Before you say anything, I know it’s only Thursday. But I was planning to start this series this week, and tomorrow I have something special to blog about, so I’m starting Festive Fridays today! So, what exactly IS a Festive Friday? It’s going to be a weekly post full of fun holiday activities on, you guessed it, Fridays! For today’s post, I’m going to share a centerpiece that took me mayyyybe 10 minutes to make with decorations I already had on hand. So, here’s what you need:
1. Tinsel
2. Tall Vase
3. Ornaments (3-4 balls depending on height of vase)
4. Scissors
First, take your vase and put a little tinsel “cushion” in the bottom. Once you cover the whole bottom, cut off the piece and squish it down a little.
Next, lay an ornament on top of your tinsel, and then top it with more tinsel. Repeat layering of tinsel and ornaments until you reach the top of the vase.
Top off the vase with a layer of tinsel, and viola! You just made a pretty centerpiece in less time than it takes to check Facebook 🙂
I had all of this on hand already, so it cost me absolutely nothing to make. The tinsel and ornaments were from last Christmas, and the vase came from the flowers I got at the Melting Pot a few years ago. You can experiment with different colors of tinsel and ornaments, different types of ornaments, or different shapes of vases. Play around and then send me a picture of your creation!
In the spirit of giving, here are the packages I’ll be sending out to clients and vendors this week. They’re also a little preview of the direction in which my new branding is headed!
