When there’s a camera out, I’m usually looking the other way.
That’s right, the secret is out, I HATE having my picture taken. Hence why I’m always the one taking the photos instead. See? I had a plan there the entire time, and you never even knew it.
It was because of this fear that I knew we had to find an amazing wedding photographer when the time came. A while back, my friend (and former teacher) Molly, got engaged. I was scrolling through her facebook one day and came across her engagement photos, taken by Katelyn James. It was love at first sight. After that, I became a
stalker faithful reader of Katelyn’s blog. In fact, it was through reading her posts that I finally decided to take the plunge and get the business license that I had been mulling over for awhile.
Fast forward a few months, and Seth proposed the November after I saw all those gorgeous photos. I knew I wanted Katelyn to be our photographer, but I also knew we were both tight on cash at the time. We decided to have a long engagement so that we could save money to have a really nice wedding. To hold me over, Seth and my dad purchased me a coaching session with Katelyn for my birthday. She was just as sweet in person as she was in her blogging! Oh, and we go to the same church 🙂
When we decided to move the wedding up after my Mamaw got sick, I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to afford good photography. However, with a lot of flexibility (our wedding date was scheduled around Katelyn’s availability, on a Sunday) and lots of hard work (Seth is working killer overtime right now) we’re making that wish come true.
But, enough of my rambling…enjoy some of our awesome engagement photos!
Oh and PS- It was SUPER windy that day, so my hair’s a little bit everywhere!
Let’s start with my ring. Seth, you did an awesome job sweetheart 🙂
