A while back, I posted about redefining my “why” in the business, and what I wanted to use it for. I also asked for you all to tell me what marriage-related things you wanted to see more of. Overwhelmingly, you asked for date night ideas!
I know the summer can be hard, and money can be tight. So I thought for the first installment of the new “Intentional Marriage” series, I could share some cheap-o date night ideas that Seth and I love. These are actually completely free!
1. Make a bucket list. Or two.
A few weeks ago, Seth and I took an afternoon to sit down and plan out what we wanted to do this summer, and beyond. We laid out on the swing with a notebook and took turns dreaming big, while enjoying a few snacks as well. We talk all the time about things we want to do, but we’re so guilty of letting time getting away from us. We’re always much more successful when we put things on paper. We made one list of things we want to do together just this summer, and another of things we’d like to do in the course of our life together. I can’t wait to continue adding things to the second list!
It was so much fun to see what each of us dreamed of doing, with no limits on how crazy our ideas could get.
2. Binge watch your favorite TV shows together.
Sometimes there is nothing better than snuggling up under a warm blanket in your pajamas on the couch. The only thing that could make it better is doing it with your spouse. When we’ve had a rough week, Seth and I like to occasionally indulge in a TV or movie marathon. With Netflix, Hulu, and all of the different channel/cable provider apps out there, chances are you can find several seasons of a favorite show. You could also take a chance and try to find something new together! Who knows, you might just find a new favorite.
Lately, we’ve been on a 90’s kick. Anyone else remember these?
What are some of your favorite ways to have date night on a budget?
